Dr. Lauren Suttle - Veterinarian

${name}

Dr. Suttle is originally from Abilene, Texas, and has called Houston home since 1996, with a few years spent living in Sydney and London through her husband John’s work in energy trading.

They’ve been married since 1996 and have two children: William, a senior at Washington & Lee, and Kenna, a sophomore at Wake Forest.

She earned her undergraduate degree in history from Vanderbilt University and her DVM from Texas A&M University, completing her fourth-year externships in Sydney. Since graduating in 2001, she has worked in a variety of Houston-area practices as a relief veterinarian, taking time off to raise her children. She brings the best of those experiences to Livewell.

Dr. Suttle’s professional interests include preventative medicine, internal medicine, geriatric care, and strengthening the human-animal bond. She is passionate about client education, enrichment for dogs and cats, and helping pets live long, comfortable, and joyful lives as active members of the family.

She shares her home with two rescue dogs named after literary characters: Edmund Pevensie, a 15-year-old dachshund/Yorkie mix, and Oliver (after Oliver Wood from Harry Potter), a 6-year-old poodle mix who may occasionally be spotted at the clinic inviting someone to play fetch.

Outside of work, she enjoys visiting her children at college, weightlifting, reading, studying history, traveling, and continually learning about veterinary medicine. A former competitive equestrian, she competed nationwide in Three-Day Eventing with her horse, Spike, who came from New Zealand.
