Dr. Alexandra Zirkle’s path to veterinary medicine began during her undergraduate studies after she adopted a German Shepherd named Moose. Inspired by the bond they shared and her growing interest in animal health, she explored the field of veterinary medicine and ultimately shifted her career focus.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Central Florida before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Florida. Dr. Zirkle’s professional interests include preventative care, diagnostic imaging, and internal medicine, with a blossoming interest in surgery. She is dedicated to partnering with pet owners to provide compassionate, individualized care that helps pets live happy, healthy lives.
Together with her fiancé, Dr. Zirkle shares her home with two German Shepherds, Forrest and Miss Maple, and her orange cat, George (affectionately called “Porg”). Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys cooking new recipes, reading, spending time outdoors, exploring her new community, and making memories with family and friends.
