Your Pet's First Visit
A pet's first visit to the vet can seem a bit daunting, so we've put together a list of info and resources to help you prepare.
At your first appointment, we will gather information about your pet’s background, health, diet, and training. We can also address any questions or concerns you might have.
Your veterinarian will examine your pet from nose-to-tail, looking for things like heart murmurs, ear infections, and/or parasites. Your vet can also provide pet-proofing tips, training assistance, and parasite protection recommendations.

Appointment Policies
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your pet's appointment for check-in. If you have not filled out all relevant patient forms yet, plan to arrive 10 minutes ahead of your appointment.
While we do our best to make sure all of our patients are seen on time, there will be times of occasional unexpected delay due to an emergency or because we are providing care for a patient that needs a little more time. Please accept our apologies should this occur, and understand that the same dedication and courtesy will be provided to your pet should they ever need it.

Our dog hurt his back and we came here for the first time after a bad experience with his old vet. Dr. John and his staff were so attentive and explained every procedure and test they did. The staff is kind and patient and answered all of your questions. This is going to be our go to vet from now on! I genuinely can’t recommend them enough.

I love how careful Dr. von Kieckebusch is with my cats and how he takes the time to explain everything to me. You can tell he truly cares for his pawed patients and that he is committed to helping paw parents! The entire staff is always so welcoming and helpful, too! My kitty Caroline was really sick but her OG vet couldn’t figure out what was wrong. We took her to Livewell in NoMa and found out right away, and was referred to an oncologist for confirmation. The empathy, compassion & transparency blew me away. Caroline passed just a few days ago but they made her last days good and memorable 10/10, phenomenal vet hospital.

I was so excited to see a new vet hospital open up right here in NoMa. The facility is beautiful, clean and the entire team is so welcoming. Dr. Von Kieckebusch was incredible, my dog absolutely loved him. He was an absolute wealth of knowledge and I couldn’t recommend him and the team more. If you are looking for exceptional vet care, look no further than this place!

I couldn’t recommend this vet enough! Just brought my cat Lana for a wellness exam and vaccines, and it was such a positive experience!! Everyone was extremely nice, gentle, and so sweet with Lana — they really made her feel super comfortable. Dr. John did a great and very thorough wellness exam. Also love the location — super convenient for us. Thank you so much for treating Lana so well!!
