Dr. Adam Chung - Lead Veterinarian, Founder

Dr. Chung is the Lead Veterinarian at Livewell Animal Hospital of Shaw.

Originally born and raised in the Chicago area, Dr. Chung moved around Georgia during his childhood and also spent a year in Florida before college. Holding true to his nomadic lifestyle, he attended college in Georgia, Florida, and New York, where he ultimately graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Animal Science from Cornell University. While taking a year off to travel the world prior to veterinary school, he visited eight countries and even served as an English teacher in Korea, before ending his journey in the Galapagos islands, where he assisted in veterinary work.

He momentarily settled down in Philadelphia, where he obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania, with a special interest in surgery and emergency care.

Dr. Chung spent many years in the Northern Virginia area, first in general practice, and then in emergency medicine, where he developed an affinity for endoscopy and ultrasound. Dr. Chung looks forward to practicing preventative medicine, being available for your pet’s urgent needs, and offering an array of surgical procedures.
