Your Pet's First Visit
A pet's first visit to the vet can seem a bit daunting, so we've put together a list of info and resources to help you prepare.
At your first appointment, we will gather information about your pet’s background, health, diet, and training. We can also address any questions or concerns you might have.
Your veterinarian will examine your pet from nose-to-tail, looking for things like heart murmurs, ear infections, and/or parasites. Your vet can also provide pet-proofing tips, training assistance, and parasite protection recommendations.

Appointment Policies
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your pet's appointment for check-in. If you have not filled out all relevant patient forms yet, plan to arrive 10 minutes ahead of your appointment.
While we do our best to make sure all of our patients are seen on time, there will be times of occasional unexpected delay due to an emergency or because we are providing care for a patient that needs a little more time. Please accept our apologies should this occur, and understand that the same dedication and courtesy will be provided to your pet should they ever need it.

This was the first time I've ever needed to use an emergency pet service, and thank goodness for Livewell Animal Urgent Care of South End! I called on a Sunday evening and explained what was going on with my cat. They immediately told me to bring him in. As soon as I arrived, the staff welcomed me, already knew who I was, and knew exactly who I was bringing. I honestly can't say I've ever experienced this level of care and compassion before. The team quickly got my cat examined and explained everything they planned to do in a way that made complete sense to someone without a medical background. Throughout his stay, they called me several times with updates and reassurance that my fur baby was doing great. They also let me know that everyone was loving on him every chance they got, which meant the world to me. The level of compassion, empathy, and communication was truly unmatched. They completely eased my nerves while my cat was away from me. Thank you, Livewell, Dr. Green, Kristen, Tay, Lindsay, & team! If your pet ever has an emergency and needs urgent care, I wouldn't take them anywhere else. The care they provide is truly exceptional, and unlike anything I've ever experienced.

We had a wonderful first visit with Dr. Green and the entire team! Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. The office is convenient, beautiful, clean, and has such a warm atmosphere. My pup wasn’t feeling his best, but he still wanted to be held by the assistant, which says so much about how caring and gentle the staff is. We truly appreciated the compassion and excellent care.
