Dr. Ron Rice - Associate Veterinarian

${name}

Dr. Rice knew he wanted to become a veterinarian at a young age, largely through the influence of the (underrated) cartoon, ‘The Wonderful World of David the Gnome’.

Originally from South Florida, Dr. Rice moved to the small town of Davidson, NC  in the early 90s. Dr. Rice received his Bachelor's degree in biology from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2008. He attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota where he completed his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and Masters in Public Health in 2016. Dr. Rice completed a small animal rotating internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists and continued working as an emergency and urgent care veterinarian for several years in the Charlotte area before transitioning to general practice after the birth of his children. Dr. Rice is thrilled to be back in Minnesota after practicing in North Carolina for 10 years. Dr. Rice joined the Livewell Minnetonka team in April and is excited to be back in urgent care and to work with his friend and former classmate, Dr Mack.

Dr. Rice and his family live in Minneapolis with their Golden (George Lucas), Beagle (Phyllis) and small menagerie of cats (Steve, Cosmic Creepers, Marbles, and Pizza).  In his free time Dr. Rice enjoys playing board games, birding, and hiking with his family. Dr. Rice is a proud nerd and advocate of the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities.
