Dr. Matney grew up in rural Kentucky.
He completed his undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University and graduated with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 2020. Since graduation, he has practiced rural general medicine before practicing emergency medicine at a 24-hour clinic in North Carolina. He and his wife have returned to Tennessee to be closer to family.
In his spare time he enjoys being on his farm, spending time with his wife and pets.
