Dr. Taylor Emery - Associate Veterinarian

Fear Free Certified

Dr. Taylor Emery is originally from both Illinois and Tampa, FL. She currently resides in Riverview, FL. She attended college on basketball scholarships to Tulane University her freshman year, Gulf Coast State College her sophomore year where she obtained an associate degree in communications, and Virginia Tech her junior and senior year where she graduated in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in creative writing. She then took 2 gap years to play basketball professionally in the WNBA with the Minnesota Lynx and overseas in both Poland and Israel. Right after retiring from basketball, she started a streetwear clothing brand called MerakiTay early 2021 and started Veterinary school in the fall of 2021. She graduated from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2025, and she has been running MerakiTay throughout vet school and even now! She has a partner and two crazy fun labrador retrievers at home. It's both a calm and chaotic home!

When she is not doing veterinary medicine or working MerakiTay, she is reading, exercising, content creating, boating, longboarding, traveling (she has been to 7 different countries in 6 years!), and trying lots of new food! A few fun facts about her are that she can juggle and make a dolphin noise. Although, she hasn't tried both together quite yet!

What is she looking forward to most?

She looks forward to learning so much. There's so much information and she's excited to not only use what she learned in school, but to also learn on the job from her colleagues as well! She is also excited for forging relationships with clients, owners, and her coworkers!
